Dr. R0bia Kosai, Johor state executive councillor for family affairs told on the state Assembly Wednesday, “Since 2007 till May this year, forty-six baby dumping cases were recorded in Johor”.
She said according to police’s statistics, 24 cases were recorded in 2007 involving 20 cases in Johor Baharu and 2 cases each in Muar and Segamat while in 2008, there were 11 cases, in Johor Baharu (7), Segamat (2), Muar (1), and Batu Pahat (1).
She also said, “8 cases were recorded in 2009 with 1 case each in Johor Baharu and Kluang, and 2 cases each in Pontian, Mersing and Segamat respectively. Only 3 cases were recorded from January till May this year, 1 each in Johor Baharu, Batu Pahat and Kulaijaya”.
